Warp Films has a special relationship with Sheffield – before Warp Films, there was Warp Records, a Sheffield-born music label that made a global impact on electronic music.
Warp Films, like their musical counterparts, have been a true example of creativity and independence and have played an essential part in British cinema.
Directed by Shane Meadows (This Is England), Dead Man’s Shoes follows Richard (Paddy Considine), an ex-soldier returning to his hometown in search of a local gang responsible for abusing his younger brother.
Richard seeks out each member individually, while a series of flashbacks reveal what took place some years before, in this brutal and unnerving tale of revenge.
Doors open 6:30pm
Dead Man’s Shoes starts 7:30pm
Presented as a double-bill alongside Four Lions – link to details.
All profits from ticket sales and bar takings will go towards the Abbeydale Picture House restoration fund.
