SToRMSxGWL: The Picture House Party
SToRMS and Gambling With Lives present:
The Picture House Party
As many of you will know, SToRMS has held an annual fundraiser for the last few years.
This year, things are going to be a little different.
We are happy to say that we are teaming up with Gambling With Lives, a cause founded by the families and friends of young men who have taken their own lives as a direct result of gambling.
As with Dan, Chris and Jack were very normal, bright, popular, and happy young men who had great futures ahead of them. For Chris and Jack, their deaths were not the result of massive gambling debts, rather what gambling had done to their hearts and their heads. They felt that they could never break free.
We see this partnership as an opportunity to bring various communities and people together in aid of a common cause, and in light of this the money we raise will be split between SToRMS and Gambling With Lives.
This event will be held on Saturday 4th of August at Abbeydale Picture House, and will run from 12pm to 8pm.
The plan is to have a day of music, art, food, and drink.
We will be welcoming independent retailers to help us out with the food and drink, as well as hosting our own traditional bake sale.
Here are some ways you can get involved:
– This year we will also be having an art exhibition and live auction, inspired by a previous event called ‘Art for the Mind’ held in 2017. We are looking for artists/photographers to contribute work.
– We are accepting raffle prizes, so if you want to donate anything e.g. vouchers etc, we would be so grateful!
– Any donations to the bake sale would be brilliant, as always with details about ingredients e.g. nuts, gluten etc.
– And finally, we will always need help on the day, from collecting entry fees to supporting us on the bake sale, there is lots to do!
If you are interested by any of the above, please message us via the SToRMS Facebook page or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We will also be welcoming representatives from Gambling with Lives and SToRMS, as well as mental health professionals to tell you more about these causes.
